Abstract:

This review explores the collaborative roles of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs) in managing oropharyngeal dysphagia in hospitalized patients. Dysphagia, a common condition among patients with neurological disorders, significantly impacts quality of life and increases the risk of aspiration pneumonia. Effective management requires a multidisciplinary approach. This review highlights the unique contributions of SLPs and OTs in assessment and intervention, emphasizing the importance of their collaboration for optimal patient outcomes.
